Social media doesn't seem complicated. We use it every day for personal reasons, and maybe even for work. But if your ideal customer, or buyer persona, engages on different social media platforms, then it's important to market on all of those venues.

They key to social media marketing is frequency, reach, and value.

There is so much content being shared, and even though your content might be awesome, if you never post it on social media or you just post it once, it may never be read. Similarly, if you're not investing in social media promotion, very few people will actually see your great content.

In addition, i's crucial to provide value. If you're content marketing strategy is strong, and you're creating content that is valuable, social media marketing will be supportive.

As the CEO, social media is a necessary evil. To be honest, you don't like it much. You don't even know if you're seeing any return on the time your team puts into it. And sometimes it looks too fun to be work.

The truth is, you're doing the right thing by being on Facebook. Social media is necessary right now if you want your company to have a chance of competing online. So keep paying that intern and/ or encourage your social media marketing team to do well and do more.

Ultimately, think about your buyer persona. Where do they go for information? If it's not Facebook, then another social media platform may be better to post on. Read more about how to define your buyer persona.
